So many posts today on Facebook about “International Women’s Day” its sickening. As though women forcibly prevented themselves from becoming male in the womb! Everyone from tech companies like Microsoft to Christian musicians, even my beloved Final Fantasy 14, are celebrating women because….well, because!
Not to be a party pooper, however, I am going to make my OWN women’s day post, celebrating woman’s REAL contribution to humanity! A contribution that has been since the beginning of time:
HER BEAUTY!
The beauty of shapely, feminine women have caused nations to go to war, and caused nations to STOP war. It has inspired men in the arts and sciences, driving them to invent new technologies and push man past boundaries he previously though unbreakable! Yes, for thousands upon thousands of years men have pushed humanity forward because:
BUSTS AND BUNS!
So join me in my celebration! Check out my shared folder of Anime Cuties, and enjoy one of humankinds greatest motivators! The shape of a woman!
Ain’t it ironic, Snapper my friend, that under the “More on WordPress.com” line the first entry I see is entitled “Bad Bitch: Women, Autonomy, and Embracing Villainy”? If there’s one thing the Fairy Hardcastle crowd will ALWAYS be good for, it’s a solid baritone laugh at their oblivious arrogance.
Stay well, my friend. Don’t be an Alpha: be John the Savage!
Yes, it appears that a lot of women just don’t get it. I was listening, earlier today, to Aaron Clarey, ie: Captain Capitalism, an agnostic economist with a penchant for foul language, but an intelligent guy. In speaking about ladies freezing their eggs and the subsequent disappointment they felt when those eggs were later found to be unviable he exclaimed (not exact, but from the best of my memory), “Forget what the past two million years of humanity had to say about females wanting children, you wanted jobs instead!”. The jist of it was that these women don’t learn that this “new” way of thinking wont work! The autonomy, the villainy, the bitchiness, the attitude, the “we don’t need men”! The bible says “there is nothing new under the sun”! Likely this has already been tried and found to be a failure, otherwise we would have societies of amazons running a country somewhere, but we don’t! Why? Because the “old way”, the patriarchy, WORKS! It builds families and industries and countries! Good luck, ladies, your going to need it.
Yes, yours still is the only Women’s Day post I need!
What I certainly do not need is one more article or interview by displeased women or confused men who bring up uninteresting questions like: Why are there more men than women in the STEM jobs? Why do so many brides still adopt their bridegroom’s name? Why are there more men than women in politics? Why is there a haystack in the corner?
I have one likeable memory of Women’s Day however, which is that of my (female) form teacher wanting to discuss the day with us when we were sixteen. In my form we were seventeen girls and nine boys, and yet – to my delight and relief – the feedback was a resounding “Women’s Day is superfluous” .
– “But why do you reject it?!” my teacher (with a hyphenated name) asked, very much surprised.
– One girl replied seriously: “Because it makes no difference today in a first world country. It is just another day in a row of unnecessary days, like the Day of the Wild Brier for instance.”
So true!!! (Since then I can’t think of Women’s Day without thinking of wild briers also! 😆)
“Why is there a haystack in the corner?”
Yes, its about as relevant a question! I love that! HA, HA!
I can celebrate women who have made something of themselves and have contributed to science, technology, engineering, even cooking! But celebrating anyone, man or woman, just for the parts they are born with is dumb. Not all women are angels, not all men are demons. Lets just weight whether or not someone should be celebrated based on their contribution, and, no, merely having and raising a child or children is not something worthy of forcing all of society to worship women over. A woman’s husband may do so, sure, but that’s his choice and at least then it would make sense.
“But celebrating anyone, man or woman, just for the parts they are born with is dumb”
Believing that this day makes a change is also stupid. It doesn’t help women in Africa whose genitals were mutilated, or women in India whose faces were attacked with acid, and it certainly makes zero difference for me, pampered woman from a first world country. It’s just the day of uninteresting questions, and while the haystack in the corner is a boring chapter of its own the other questions all come to the same answer. An answer we already know but the people who’re asking don’t want to hear it: It is because men and women are different, they have different talents and preferences, and that is good! Differences between men and women is what HETEROsexuality is about! If there were no differences heterosexuality would be pointless, and that would be a pity actually.
