I rail against the modern Western church a lot, having had to butt heads with two pastors, whom I love, over twisted scripture. I don’t think they intentionally twisted the scripture, I believe they were taught that the proper interpretation of the scripture in question was the one that made us feel good and was in line with societal norms. This, however, doesn’t excuse their behavior, as they have the bible and can read and understand for themselves and break free from “strange doctrine”, if only they really wanted to.
This is the future of the Western church as it goes.
Its sickening. The bible said that God wants no one to perish, but he leaves that decision in our hands. Anyone can come to Christ, but Jesus said that those who love him, truly love him, obey his commandments. He says the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and then to love your neighbor as yourself, but people tend to forget that there are other commandments: These two are simply called the greatest of them!
God commands us to avoid fornication and adultery! He commands us not to divorce and not to marry others who are not Christians themselves! He commands wives to submit to their husbands and husbands to love their wives! Ignoring these commandments is dangerous and can have eternal consequences:
Matthew 7:
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Jesus tells us that obeying his commandments is a good and smart thing to do, while ignoring them is folly:
Matthew 7
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:
27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
This “church” is anathema. It is a false church and not of God. Do you think God hates guns? The same God who called for the utter destruction of those who worshipped false gods and stood in the way of His people? The same Jesus who told his disciples that it was time to sell their coat and buy a sword? Do you think He intended for them to use it for slicing meat for dinner?
Did God say He never hated anyone? God hates the wicked and their wicked ways! God hates divorce and murder and idol worship! Are you participating in these things? Then you are hated by God! The beauty of the gospel is that we can ask forgiveness and repent and that hate be replaced by a love so great that God adopts us as one of His very own children, even as a heir to His kingdom!
Seven things God hates!
Proverbs 6:
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Who are we to tell the world that God has “nothing but love for them” when that is patently FALSE!
A time will come when the churches will cease to worship the one true God. What will we do when that happens? Would you be willing to stop going to a mainstream Christian church? Would you be willing to start your own home study? What did the followers of God do in biblical times when the name of God was mocked? What indeed?

Christians who hate guns are pampered and privileged fools who have no idea how many wicked men and women there are out there who will cheerfully do horrifying things to you given the opportunity.
Far too many people believe everything can be resolved peacefully when that’s not the case at all!
Yes. Too each his own, I say. If one doesn’t like guns then fine, but don’t tell me I need to give up mine!
